Fairytale Goes On and On

Who hates movies? Everyone love movies, right?
In this late years, i realize that the trending movies in Hollywood are inspired by the old fairytales.
It proves that the fairytales are not boring and ancient.
Here are some movies that inspired by the "old" fairytales. Here we go!

# 1. Alice In The Wonderland (2010)

This movie is directed by the famous film director, Tim Burton. The screenwriter is Linda Woolverton, derived from the classic tale written by Lewis Caroll. The story : Nineteen-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is attending party at a lavish country estate when she sees a white rabbit with a pocket watch dart into the bushes. Curious, she follows the rabbit to an enormous tree, and tumbles down a hole that takes her to Underland, a strange world inhabited by anthropomorphic creatures in search of someone to save them from the dreaded Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter), who has assumed control of the kingdom by decapitating anyone who dares disagree with her. According to a scroll detailing a historical timeline of Underland -- including events that have not yet taken place -- it is Alice who will set the kingdom free by defeating the Jabberwocky, a powerful dragon-like creature under the control of the Red Queen. But is this Alice the same Alice who appears in the scroll? While some of the creatures of Underland have their doubts, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and his friends are certain she's the same girl who previously visited them years ago. When the Red Queen kidnaps the Mad Hatter, Alice attempts to free her friend and locate the one weapon with the power to slay the Jabberwocky, thereby restoring the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) to the throne, and bringing peace back to Underland.

My rating : ★★★☆☆

# 2.Another Cinderella Story (2008)

Prepare for plenty of music, lots of dancing, and even a little magic in this reworking of the Cinderella legend featuring High School Musical star Drew Seeley as a young Prince Charming in search of the ideal girl. It's never easy being the new kid in school, but young Joey (Seeley) is determined to make the most of his new surroundings. If only he were to find a pretty girl who was willing to teach him the ropes around his new high school, Joey could finally stop fretting about fitting in. Perhaps Mary (Selena Gomez) is just such a girl, though this Cinderella is more likely to waltz in a new pair of dancing shoes than a pair of glass slipper.

My rating : ★★★★☆

# 3. Red Riding Hood (2011)

Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie's older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon's arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. Panic grips the town as Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast-one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect...and bait.

# 4. Snow White and The Huntsman (2012)

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and power.

# 5. Tangled (2010)

When the kingdom's most wanted-and most charming-bandit Flynn Rider hides out in a mysterious tower, he's taken hostage by Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn's curious captor, who's looking for her ticket out of the tower where she's been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs.

# 6. Hansel and Gretel (2013)

After getting a taste for blood as children, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become the ultimate vigilantes, hell bent on retribution. Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches...their past.

Novel Scoops : Riley Bloom Series

It's been a long time since i posted the last post...
Now i've changed my blog layout and thinking that,
"What could i do to beautify my blog?"
And then i remembered that my post about Movie Scoops : Unfortunate Events
has the highest rate of all. This means that reader needs something different beside
my daily minds. So, this time, i would like to post about my favourite novel,
Riley Bloom series by Alyson Noel. So, here we go :)

#1. Radiance
This book tells you about the first trace of Riley Bloom's death world. She moved to the different world because she died after an accident that kill her entire family, include her dog, Buttercup, except her immortal sister, Ever Bloom (in the Immortals series). At first, she thought that death world is a peace world, where everything's perfect. But, in fact, she have to be a soul catcher, a work that allows her to guide ramble souls in the earth into the bridge between the death and living world. And she realized that it isn't an easy work, she needs to fight with her fears.

#2 Shimmer
The second book tells about Riley's continuous of her job as a soul catcher, where she have to catch a terrible young girl's ghost, Rebecca. She isn't only rambling in London, but she also trap the other souls that wanted to cross the bridge by their own scary memories. Riley soon realized that Rebecca isn't easy to be caught. She is dangerous because inside her sweet appearance, she has a wolf-like mind. But with her teacher, Bodhi, they could lead Rebecca and the other victim into the bridge.

Yeah, i think that's all for this time. I'm so sorry i couldn't write the summary of four of them because i'm sleepy right now, hahaha :D
I'll try to update soon and give more information  to you :3
Bye!

Movie Scoops

Hello, everyone!
Finally, i'm back to update after a long time gone.
In this ocassion, i want to tell you about my movie opinion,
which i think it's the best movie i ever watch in this year.

My choice falls to the novel-based movie,

"Limony Snicket's Unfortunate Events"

This movie inspires me so much, and have a lot of moral values we can take.

Okay, now i want to tell you the summary, check it out~

There's a unique children that live in a big town and a happy life. The first daughter, Violet Baudelaire (Emily Browning) is a 14 years old girl who discover and made many useful tools in every situation. Second, is her brother, Klaus Baudelaire (Liam Aiken) who loves to read books and remember everything he read. He knows so many things that helps Violet to do her experiments. Then, the last is Sunny Baudelaire (Kara-Shelby Hoffman), who has a different mind with her siblings. She loves to byte everything with her sharp teeth and play with woods. In the talking age, she only shout randomly, that sometimes made a missunderstanding.

Violet Baudelaire

Klaus Baudelaire

Sunny Baudelaire

They live peacefully before their fate started to freak out. Their parents died misteriously by an unknown fire, and suddenly they came to be an orphans. They have a cruel and meany guardian, Count Olaf. He keep them just for their parent's money. And Olaf always try to kill those children but he always win the game.

So many problems they faced to have a happy ending, but they must beat the crafty Olaf to get the real life back. This movie is epic, full of adventure, clues, and discovering. I hope you'll agree with my reccommendation.

Yeah, i think that's enough. Simply, i give 4.5 stars to this movie.

How do you think? Would you like to rate it? Just scoops it.

Hunger Games Addict

Hi, Dreamer~
Meet me again in this blog :)
I thought it will be nice to post something about The Hunger Games, the worldwide new trend since March 2012.
I read the novel, which have the same title with the movie, with the recommendation from my monthly teen magazine and my classmate.

Actually, The Hunger Game is trilogy which the first book is The Hunger Games, the second book is Catching Fire, and the last book is Mockingjay.
At the beginning, i didn't too atracted to these novel, but after i looked for the images in the Google, reading the articles in the Wikipedia, and discussed it in Facebook, it goes to be my dream and my biggest wish.
In my opinion, the movie and the novel are amazing. They are great. Not like another comments is YouTube, or Twitter, someone seems to be novel-lover than the movie-lover.
They mocks the movie, when i thought the movie is very close to the story in the novel.
The main characters are :

Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence),

Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson),

Gale Hawthorne (played by Liam Hemisworth),

Effie Trinket (played by Elizabeth Banks),

Primrose Everdeen (played by Willow Shields), and

Clove (played by Isabelle Fuhrman).

Thank you for reading this post. I'll post another fairytale again :)
